LA HOJA is LA’s most unique cannabis dining experience created by renowned Chef Luke Reyes and a team of California cannabis industry experts. Each infused dish and cocktail is the result of hundreds of hours of trial and experimentation, meticulously fine tuning recipes using the optimal THC or CBD dosage to create the perfect result. LA HOJA was born in Los Angeles and our food is a reflection of our love for this city and the most abundant and progressive state in North America, California. With a nod to the farm-to-table and slow food movements, and rooted with deep cultural influences from Mexican, Peruvian, Caribbean, Honduran, Guatemalan, and other South American cultures, Los Angeles is at the forefront of both culinary and cannabis cultures, and LA HOJA is the leading brand to celebrate the intersection of that narrative.
LA HOJA translated means “THE LEAF”. We honor the entire journey from the leaf to the table, in every ingredient we use. From cucumbers to cannabis, each item, including our organically grown and sustainably processed cannabis concentrate, is locally sourced from the region’s best farms and top purveyors.
LA HOJA creates private fine dining experiences, and provides high-end event catering and full event production. Our biggest love is to bring our expertly crafted food and uniquely curated dining experiences to the people. We hope to share it with you soon.
Originally from Massachusetts, Chef Luke Reyes had first set his sights on hospitality management and accordingly enrolled a Johnson and Wales University. However he soon realized that his passion was found in the back of house. He quickly caught the attention of James Beard Award-winning chef Ming Tsai and secured his first job. Under Tsai’s tutelage he continued on the line for a year and eventually moved on to the highly lauded Aujourd’hui at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston where he developed his skills in fine dining and expanded his culinary arts knowledge.
In 2009, he headed West to work alongside chef Ilan Hall at The Gorbals in Los Angeles as chef de cuisine, then moved onto the Tasting Kitchen as junior sous chef where he honed his butchery and charcuterie skills with the restaurant’s “whole hog” program. Luke then went on to open neighborhood gem The Corner Door in Culver City as executive chef where he created an eclectic and well-curated menu that focused on local and seasonal ingredients. Reyes eventually moved onto the much-revered Butchers & Barbers, Houston Hospitality’s first-ever restaurant.
Reyes has consulted for many other Los Angeles establishments including Tasting Kitchen in Venice, Square One’s Lucky Duck in Silverlake, and has popped up at
Houston Hospitality’s Harvard & Stone from time to time. He may also be recognized for his victory on Food Network’s CHOPPED. Luke will opening his next restaurant, 9th Street Ramen late Summer 2018.
Luke is the head chef and owner of La Hoja.
Benjamin is an experienced film producer hailing from Australia now residing in Silverlake, LA.His work in film has been recognised at major festivals such as Sundance and Cannes and has racked up an array of awards in the short film world globally.Benjamin is also a seasoned commercials producer having executed large scale TV campaigns of six figure sums for the likes of Xbox, Coca Cola, Adidas and Red Bull. He has worked closely with Luke Reyes over the last year running his pop up restaurant ventures. Benjamin is the Managing Director and co-owner of La Hoja.
Ryan is film director with, Roman Coppola’s production company The Directors Bureau in Los Angeles and also Ridley Scott Associates in London, UK. His work in music and fashion has seen him shoot the likes of George Michael, Kate Moss, Pharrell Williams, Sam Smith, Lordem Moses Sumney and Freja Beha Ericson. Along with this he has directed commercial TV campaigns for brands such as Absolut, Hugo Boss and Guinness. Ryan is currently in pre-production on his first feature film scheduled for shooting late 2018. Ryan is the Creative Director and co-owner of La Hoja.
ALEXIS FLORIO + ALEXANDRA VAN IDEN
Alexis and Alexandra are co-owners of PRISMATICS, a Creative Communications Agency located in Silverlake. PRISMATICS launched in 2013 and has worked on numerous Brand Consulting, Public Relations, Digital Media, Marketing and Events projects for leading brands in the Lifestyle/Culture space.
PRISMATICS took on their first cannabis project in 2015 with the launch of Chong’s Choice, and have since strategized for top brands, producing cannabis events and experiences the industry’s top upscale brands. They bring their expertise to LA HOJA as the Directors of PR and Marketing.
